We can trust animals to be themselves

“We can trust animals to be themselves, and because of that, in some ineffable way they help connect us to a better part of ourselves, to the more authentic self we long to be. In their inability to be anything but genuine, animals remind us of the ways in which we are imperfect and the ways in which we can be a little kinder, a little more generous, a little braver.”

— Tai Moses, Zooburbia

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I recently finished this pretty little book, a series of short essays about the author’s observations of animals (mostly wildlife, but a few cats and dogs thrown in there for good measure). I liked this sentiment, particularly, about the emotional example animals can set for us.

Wishing you a very happy Friday and a peaceful weekend.

  1. I’m so glad you liked “Zooburbia.” Thank you for reading and for sharing it. I’m enjoying your observations of the canine mind— taking my time reading through all of your lovely posts.
